I adore this simple, yet elegant card.  I love white on white, and I love antiques.  Even though this isn't monochromatic, it is somewhat close.  This is a CASE from Ilina Crouse (Ilina Creations).  Her blog is in my Favie Top 5!  Love her.  I hope you like this card, as well.

My Swap Cards - Thoughts & Prayers

I made 10 of these cards today!  Shwew!  Yes, it took several hours.  I am not the fastest card maker in the world!!!  The most time consuming part was punching out the flowers.  My punch kept sticking, and it took a long time to get "good flowers".  I hope the 8 participants enjoy my contribution to the swap.  My packet will go in the mail in the morning.  I can't wait to get my 8 cards to see what everyone else made!

I love owls. A lot. So, I just haaaaaad to buy this stamp set! :-) I tried to make the card as fun and funky as possible. And, I'm not a button girl, but I do use one every now and then (the middle of the flower needed something). You should really check out this stamp set if you like this card. Four Shabby Chic Cards (Archiver's Class)

Here are the four cards I made during the Archiver's Shabby Chic Class last Friday morning. I can't believe this class was a week ago! It seems like yesterday. It is amazing how busy the weeks get in April and May. We are wrapping up the school year and the days just fly by.
I really enjoyed this class. It was such a popular class at Archiver's, they brought it back, due to popular demand. The cards really look better in person, and they are meant to be "shabby", and not perfect. A little messy is a good thing when you are doing this method.
This was the first time I've stamped with paint. There is no ink on these cards. Just Ranger Paint Dabbers (acrylic paint). It was a lot of fun, and it took some getting used to. I never got my card right the first time, and had to flip over and use the other side every time. And boy does it make a mess out of the acrylic stamps!
I also enjoyed using the shimmer paper - I think it looks great with the shabby look.
I really loved using the Hero Arts flowers. We applied the Ranger Rock Candy crackle paint and Distress Stickles on the flowers to make them stiff and shabby.
Another cool thing: we painted the brads (they were originally silver) with the Paint Dabber, let it dry, and then applied Distress Stickles. I will definitely use this little trick on a few other cards.
After the class, I did buy two of the Ranger Paint Dabbers, the Rock Candy, and the Hero Arts collage flowers, so I can try this at home.

When Peggy and I met to discuss this card, we were originally going to use the long stem of flowers in the Echoes of Kindness stamp set. However, since the Bigz Die made the card a little smaller than an A2...I decided to use the shorter stem of flowers. Also...I am VERY NEW to watercoloring. Peggy will be at our Make & Take to show you how to watercolor - and I am sure I can learn a lot, too.

Our Spring Fling Make and Take Card - Manhattan Flower

Here is a look at what we'll be making at our Spring Fling Make and Take! I hope you like it! It looks even better in person - very soft, with lots of wonderful texture. We will make two of these at our class. I will post some of the other things we will be making, also. The great thing is...if you come to this class you will learn a new technique...how to sand designer paper to get this look. It is quick and easy.
BTW - Peggy and I will be doing this class together at her wonderful craft grotto! You will love it. And if you don't like the "Friend" sentiment, you can change it - we'll have lots of stamps to choose from.

rock Card

Here is the card I made yesterday. This is a non Stampin Up! card. Sorry, peeps! :-) Oh - except the chunky glitter and the black paper is SU!

My friend is throwing her little boy a "Rock Star" birthday party. I am an unorganized person, so don't go thinking I always make a card to match the theme of the recipient's party! I didn't even do that for my own son, who had an "Army" birthday party! (Because I didn't stamp in November...too busy).

But, I was in Archiver's and I just happened to see this paper. And I thought it would be perfect for a Rock Star card...so here it is.

There is NO stamping involved at all. It is super easy. The only trick is making sure you put glitter on the letters the day before you want to make the card...b/c otherwise, the glue will not be dry.

Directions:

Step 1: Cover the top of the "rock" chipboard letters in Crystal Effects. Then, just sprinkle the chunky glitter over the letters, and push the glitter down with light pressure with the cap (just to get it to stick). And I did all this on a sheet of parchment paper, so it wouldn't stick to the paper. Let dry overnight.

Step 2: Cut sheet of silver cs in half. Use that half for the card. Layer the star designer paper on a basic black layer. Put a silver brad in each corner. Adhere the top layer to the silver card.

Step 3: Trim out the guitar from the other designer paper. Place on the card using dimensionals.

Step 4: Glue "rock" letters directly on to the card using Tombo multi glue. (don't use too much...like I did on the "r").

NOTE: I should have used pink sticky strip to adhere the black piece to the silver CS. I used snail. But, I didn't realize the silver paper is kinda slippery...so it slides around a little. That won't happen next time....since now I know.

Flower Layers Bigz Die Card by Sally

Yay! My last Shoebox Swap Card! This one is Sally's! I love Sally's cards...they are always a hit with me! She comes up with some great ideas. Sally does not have a blog, or I would provide a link. She designed the card, and all we had to do was cut out our flowers with the Big Shot machine, and then assemble the card. Warning: This card is time consuming! But, it is worth it. The beads in the center of the flower look amazing in person.

Okay...only 2 more to go. Here is the next to the last Shoebox Swap Card. I think the lady's name is Pam...the one who designed and brought this card. She cut out the pieces...all we had to do was stamp the flowers, watercolor the flowers, trim, and assemble the card. I love the new glitter that is in the new catalog!

Good Friend Card by Diana

Here is Diana's card from the Shoebox Swap. She designed the card and cut out the pieces for us (except for trimming out the bird, of course). All I had to do was Stamp, Emboss, Trim, and Ensemble! I love this one - isn't it cute?

Diana's blog is amazing and her stuff is always the bomb. It is far superior to mine, LOL. Maybe my blog can look like hers someday? Doubtful. One can dream.

Always Bird Bella DP Card

And here is the 2nd card we made at our Make-And-Take (class) last night! I really love the way this turned out. I got the idea off Splitcoast - but I really feel I changed enough of the original card to call this my own design. I added the flower, the corner punch, and changed ALL the colors and designer paper choice. I am very proud of it!!! I also used different widths for my paper strips, b/c I wanted them to be fatter. This might look good with pink sponged around the edge of the white paper. Too bad I didn't think of that until now. Enjoy!

May Shoe Box Swap - Friendly Flowers Card

This was the card I designed for the May 30th Shoe Box Swap (my VERY FIRST shoe box swap - how exciting)! I forgot to put this on my blog back in May. The swap went off without a hitch! I was so excited! I cased this idea off Split Coast - but I changed the bottom bit to a designer label and then I changed the background - that is about all I changed. I love this card because it sorta reminds me of an antique quilt. Sorta homey. I sponged around all the ivory edges to give it a distressed look.

Kind Thoughts Card - Teal and Black

Goodness me, I am exhausted. I made 15 of these today for the swap tomorrow morning. I am soooo ready for bed. I had no idea these would take so long. I started this morning. I ran into a few problems. The ink (craft) just didn't want to dry. I learned (a little too late) that I should have set it with a heat gun. It all turned out fine - it just took me longer than it should have. Well, I did have one break when my DH took me out for sushi. But other than that, these cards took an entire day. I know they aren't supposed to take that long, LOL!!! But I learned a lot - and next time it won't take me so stinkin long.
I designed this card myself, although I did get the idea for the black background from someone else.

Embrace Life Card

This card was made using the cracked glass technique. This was made at Jeri's Make and Take. First you smush the little white square in VersaMark, after you stamp the image and color it in with the stamp and write markers. Then you sprinkle the embossing powder on there (page 187 of catty) called Glassy Glaze Enamel. Then you heat with the heating tool. Then you repeat it 3 more times!!! Then you put the little white square in the freezer for 10 or 20 minutes, I can't remember - but it wouldn't hurt to do 20. Then you gently crack the paper by holding each side and bending it in different places.
